Transmission Repair
Transmission fluid lubricates every moving part inside your transmission. In an automatic transmission, transmission fluid acts as a coolant and serves as viscous agent that transmits power from the engine to the transmission. Manual transmissions use a variety of oils including regular motor oil and heavy duty gear oil. Routine maintenance is the best way to prevent costly transmission failure. Transmission service should be done every 30,000 miles, or as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

Why is transmission repair important?
Over time, transmission fluid contamination occurs in both manual and automatic vehicle transmissions. Bearings and gears in the transmission wear, resulting in metal particles float around in the lubricant. Dirty oil does not perform as well as clean oil, so the contaminated oil should be drained out, or it will adversely impact the life of the transmission. In automatic transmission vehicles, the fluid itself degrades with use, as a result of heat generation in an automatic transmission. Transmission service prevents issues relating to these problems.
